DEEP Sea Fishing Charters

A world class fishery that is 365 days a year… The DEEP BLUE Captains Matt Eckert & Eric Mcdonald provide offshore deep sea fishing charters from Palm Beach to Boynton Beach, Florida. Our typical charter catches include Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Wahoo King Mackerel, Grouper, Snapper, Cobia, Sharks. We offer a variety of methods to target these species ( Live Bait, Kite Fishing, Trolling, Jigging, Bottom fishing, etc. ) Some anglers enjoy live baiting others trolling or bottom bouncing and vertical jigging. If you are unsure we will guide you in the best direction to make sure we maximize the chance of putting fish on the deck!

Location

Our deep sea fishing charters are out of Palm Beach and Boynton Beach, FL. We have two boats regularly available and can accommodate groups up to six people per boat. Palm Beach and Boynton are our home inlets but we’ll fish waters as far south as Pompano Beach and as far north as Jupiter.

Top Methods

Live Bait / Kite Fishing & Vertical Jigging

Kite Fishing – Hands down the best and most popular method for targeting everything off our coast. Flying a Kite allows us to fish more baits cover more water and ultimately catch more fish! This is our customers favorite trip because its extremely hands on. You need to be engaged the entire time making sure the baits are properly presented. There is nothing like watching a big Sailfish smash a bait on the surface or watching a Wahoo sky 30 feet out of the water with our bait hanging from its mouth! Our baits of choice are Goggle Eyes, Big Pilchards, Threadfin Herring, Blue Runners. In addition to fishing live baits, anglers can also take advantage of vertical jigging. If you are not familiar with vertical jigging it basically full contact fishing and takes some strength and stamina, but definitely pays off for those anglers who want to maximize their chance of catching fish. Some of our biggest Tuna of the year come off the jig.

Basic Live Bait Spread – This is perfect for smaller groups. You don’t always need 5-8 Rods in the water. With groups of 1-3 anglers we take advantage of our outriggers and create a nice spread of baits. We’ll have a couple baits on top a bait down deep. Anglers can also vertical jig while waiting for the live bait hit.

Trolling

Trolling has its advantages due to the fact we can cover lots of water throughout the trip. Rigged Ballyhoo, Strip baits, Split Tail Mullet are great methods for catching Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Wahoo, King Mackerel and even Sailfish. The Spring and Summer months is when we do most of our trolling trips, but we also like to mix up the techniques depending how long the trip is. We can’t start off trolling then switch over to live bait or vise versa. We recommend doing this on a full day charter. It’s a good way to cover all species.

Bottom Fishing

Meat fishing is what we like to call it. This is great trip if you want to load up the freezer on some snapper and grouper. We recommend this trip if you have kids. They are engaged the entire trip and will most likely keep the rod bent the entire trip.
